Imperial Times are Coming

For some time now, I have been hard at work developing a Turn-Based Grand Strategy Game set in the “Long 19th Century” (1789-1918) era, and decided it was high time to start up a web-page to begin showing the fruits of my labor to the world.

Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2766160/Imperialism_Concert_of_Europe/

Here are some quick facts about the game:

  • Its single greatest inspiration is the 1997 PC strategy game Imperialism, which was developed by Frog City Software and published by Strategic Simulations (SSI).
  • Its second greatest inspiration would be the more recent Victoria games developed by Paradox Interactive
  • Like Imperialism, it is very economy and trade driven and has centralized micromanagement – you do micromanage production and trade but everything is made in factories located in your “Capital”.
    • This “Centralized Micromanagement” allows the game play benefits of micromanagement (being in control) but without the tedium of managing things in numerous cities or provinces.
      • Accordingly, province-level management is kept very simple.
  • The game is intended to satisfy people who like heavy strategy games, but it is streamlined with the (current) intention of taking about three and a half hours play through the Grand Campaign.
  • Since the game has been in progress for a little while, there is quite a “back log” of “Developer Diaries” to catch you up on!
